BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MOTORBIKE TOURS

This business is part of Offroad Vietnam Adventure Travel, and the booking terms and conditions are set by the parent company, Offroad Vietnam.

(Our Booking Terms & Conditions were last updated on October 11, 2013.)

When you are ready to secure your booking with Offroad Vietnam, we recommend checking our payment instructions and the list of our bank partners.

Reservation

  • To reserve our fully guided tours or semi-guided tours, please send the first deposit at least one month before the departure date.
  • To reserve our self-guided tours (motorbike rentals), you should send the first deposit as soon as you decide to hire the motorcycle(s), provided the required bike(s) are still available.
  • The client is responsible for all bank charges and payment-related fees, including sending fees, currency-conversion differences, and any charges imposed by intermediary or correspondent banks.
  • The remaining balance must be paid before or on the day of departure. If you prefer not to carry a large amount of cash, you can pay the balance by bank transfer, Western Union, or online credit card payment. Alternatively, you can pay by credit card at our shop, subject to a 3% bank service charge for Visa and MasterCard and 4% for American Express.
  • Unfortunately, we do not accept traveler’s cheques or PayPal because of the fees and unfavorable conditions associated with these payment methods.

Cancellation Or Delay Of A Booking

Self-guided tours or motorbike rentals

  • There is a US$ 50 change or date-delay fee per booking. However, we will waive this fee in the event of unexpected circumstances such as serious illness, war, travel bans, or similar situations beyond the client’s control.
  • The deposit is non-refundable.
  • There is no refund for unused rental days.
  • If you have already paid the rental in full, there is no refund for cancellations made within 7 days of the motorcycle collection date.

Fully guided or semi-guided tours Booking Terms

  • There is a US$ 100 change or date-delay fee per booking. However, we will waive this fee in the event of unexpected circumstances such as serious illness, war, travel bans, or similar situations beyond the client’s control.
  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • If you have already paid the tour in full, there is no refund for cancellations made within 14 days of the scheduled departure date, or for cancellations made during or after the tour has started.
  • In all cases, a US$ 100 preparation fee applies.
  • Currency conversions are calculated using the local exchange rate from Vietcombank.
  • If one or more participants cancel, we can provide a refund according to the applicable cancellation terms. The price for the remaining participants will then be recalculated based on the new group size and will usually be higher per person. Conversely, if additional participants join the group, the total tour price will be recalculated and will usually become cheaper per person.

Insurance

  • Our tours do not include personal medical insurance or motorbike tour accident insurance.
  • Every participant must have individual travel and medical insurance that includes emergency evacuation and repatriation. You should also provide us with the contact details of the insurer’s nearest representative office in or near Vietnam so that we can contact them in the event of an emergency.
  • You must have appropriate personal medical and travel insurance even if you are travelling as a pillion passenger. For passengers, insurance policies will normally provide coverage for accidents, subject to the individual policy’s terms and conditions.

Some Australian riders have recommended CHI Insurance and Allianz, stating that these companies did not require a local Vietnamese driving licence in certain circumstances and offered coverage for larger-displacement motorcycles. Alternatively, Lonely Planet has also offered travel insurance policies costing less than US$ 100 per person.

On our motorcycle tours, you normally ride for approximately five hours per day on average. This means that, outside riding hours, you still have approximately 19 hours per day when you are not riding a motorcycle.

If you need information about driving licence requirements for insurance purposes, please follow this link.

  • Every participant must sign a disclaimer confirming that they have arranged appropriate personal insurance. Offroad Vietnam will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for medical, evacuation, repatriation, or other expenses resulting from an accident, injury, illness, or other unforeseen event. Any expenses paid or incurred by Offroad Vietnam on a participant’s behalf in such circumstances must be reimbursed by the participant.

Note About Booking Terms

  • As a way of saying thank you to our returning customers, we normally do not require a deposit from customers who have travelled with us before. Returning customers may also receive a discount on their next tour or tours, subject to our current pricing and conditions.
  • We cannot guarantee weather conditions. If necessary, you may be able to delay or reschedule your tour, subject to availability and the applicable change policy. However, there is no refund if you choose to cancel because of unfavorable weather conditions.
